Injury forces Oliveira and Marquez to sit out Argentine Grand Prix

by Ethan Caldwell

Honda rider Marc Marquez and RNF rider Miguel Oliveira will miss the Argentine Grand Prix, the second round of the MotoGP World Championship for the 2023 season.

The duo were involved in an accident during the Portuguese Grand Prix last weekend, when Marquez came into contact with Oliveira’s bike, which caused the duo to withdraw from the race.

After conducting tests for Oliveira, it was found that he was unable to participate in the Argentine tour, as well as Marquez, who suffered an injury to the thumb bone in his right hand, which required surgery.

Boles were installed in the metatarsal of Marquez’s right hand to treat the injury, and this will allow him to ride his bike normally, which required him not to participate in the race.

Despite the injury suffered by the duo, they confirmed their commitment to a quick return to competition in the upcoming races.

Social media was filled with messages wishing recovery for the duo, hoping to get the green light to participate in the next rounds of the tournament after full recovery.
