District Messel (ots) –
Messel district – The roof structure of a building is currently burning in the Messel district, near the Darmstadt – Dieburg railway line. Shortly before midnight on Sunday (December 5th) the engine driver of a passing train reported the fire to the central rescue control center in Dieburg via an emergency call. Fire brigade and police forces dispatched immediately were able to locate the building located between Messel and Dieburg. The fire brigade from Messel has started the extinguishing work. Whether the building is still used for residential purposes and whether there are or have still been people in the building cannot be said at the moment. As the building is only a few meters away from the tracks, the railway line was closed as a precaution. A caravan was also parked on the premises of the building.
