In “The Mandalorian”, “Ahsoka” does not have her first appearance. The (ex -) “Jedi Knight” was already seen in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels”. Through these two series, the character gradually developed into a crowd favorite.
But how does the story of the series character begin? “Ahsoka Tano” was discovered by the “Jedi Master” “Plo Koon” and eventually became “Anakin Skywalker’s” student. She fought at his side in numerous battles of the Clone Wars.
In doing so, she came into contact with other popular characters from the “Star Wars” universe, such as “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, “Master Yoda”, “Mace Windu” or “Padme Amidala”.

What happened to “Ahsoka” before “The Mandalorian”?
Long before “The Mandalorian” brought “Ahsoka” into play, the fighter was involved in exciting stories. After a falling out with the “Jedi Order” she left them and was instead recruited by “Bo-Katan Kryce” to fight the former Sith Lord “Darth Maul”.
“Ahsoka’s” fight against “Maul” played at the same time as “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” and the proclamation of Order 66, whereupon “Ahsoka’s” soldiers turned against them and “Maul” finally managed to escape.
“Ahsoka” also managed to escape and her story continued in “Star Wars: Rebels”. “Ahsoka” didn’t want to be idle and fight against the Empire. She therefore joined the rebellion under the code names “Ashla” and “Fulcrum” “Bail Organas”, where she met the pilot “Hera Syndulla” and the two “Jedi” “Kanan Jarrus” and “Ezra Bridger”, who was an essential one Play a role in Star Wars: Rebels.
“The Mandalorian” brings back “Ahsoka”
Now “The Mandalorian” takes up “Ahsoka’s” story again and it becomes part of the again “Star Wars” universe. After some fights and incidents in “Star Wars: Rebels”, it is unclear what “Ahsoka” experienced afterwards – the viewer may now learn more about it in “The Mandalorian”. Before that, however, “Ahsoka” has to help the “Mandalorian Din Djarin” (Pedro Pascal) to locate the home of “Baby-Yoda”.
“Ahsoka” gets an actress in front of the camera for the first time, namely Rosario Dawson (41). She was discovered by the photographer and director Larry Clark and made her acting debut in 1995 in his film “Kids”.

Rosario Dawson is known from the Marvel universe and can be seen in series such as “Marvel’s Daredevil” (2015 to 2016) or “Marvel’s The Defenders” (2017). She was also involved in famous film projects – including “Sin City” (2005 and 2014), “Seven Lives” (2008) and “The Zoo Keeper” (2010).
Series fans could also know the “Ahsoka” actress from “Jane the Virgin”, where she appeared in 18 episodes from 2018 to 2019.
Rumors are currently circulating that “Ahsoka” could get its own spin-off on Disney +, as did the character “Boba Fett”. Then the audience would see Rosario Dawson again as “Ahsoka” and then also know her at the center of the plot.
