Infonavit cleared financial cargo – El Sol de Tlaxcala

To lighten the financial burden of workers and end unpayable loans, in 2020 the Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) converted 610 loans that were sometimes called minimum wages to pesos, reported the head of the local address, Vicente Corral Lastra.

With this, he indicated, the workers received a total discount on their debt on average of 50%, that is, 210 thousand pesos, in addition to the fact that the monthly payment of their mortgage will stop increasing year after year in line with the increase in the minimum wage.

With the loans converted to pesos this year, he explained that the Institute helped more than 1,800 borrowers with the program launched in February 2019, thus discounting more than 351 million pesos from the balance of these restructured accounts.

In this sense, he pointed out that according to the current criteria of the program, for a borrower to be able to convert his credit from times the minimum wage to pesos, the balance of his debt must be at least 30% greater than the amount originally contracted, as well as be 13 years or older.

To access this benefit, he pointed out that borrowers must enter with their user at micuentainfonavit.org.mx, check financing status in the my credit tab and accept the new mortgage conditions in the shared responsibility section.
