Infinix will soon bring 5G phones to Indonesia

Suara.com – Country Marketing Manager Infinix Mobile Indonesia, Sergio Ticoalu said Infinix had prepared 5G phone to the Indonesian market in the near future.

“HP 5G? Definitely. We have to be sensitive to existing technology. We have also developed 5G,” said Sergio in a virtual press conference, Tuesday (12/10/2021).

Sergio said that the next 5G phone that Infinix will make is the Zero X series. However, he did not provide information about when the phone will be released, both in the global version and in the Indonesian market.

“Anyway, as soon as we can prepare a cellphone with 5G support. Maybe this year one of our flagship cellphones has a 5G version, just announce it,” added Sergio.

In addition to 5G cellphones, Sergio said Infinix also plans to hold a 5G campaign in Indonesia. Indeed, so far there has been no Infinix phone that supports 5G, but he admits that he has prepared one.

“Right now, our campaign doesn’t really have a 5G issue, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t prepared it,” he said.

So far, Infinix has not provided phones with 5G internet. Their last products, Infinix Zero X Pro and Zero X Neo which were released in Indonesia a few days ago also do not support 5G.

On the other hand, the research firm Counterpoint Research said that 5G cellphones were increasingly in demand by Indonesian consumers. It is noted that the 5G HP market share in Indonesia rose 7 percent in the second quarter (Q2) 2021 from 4 percent in the previous Q1.

Paula Ruth as Research Analyst for Counterpoint Research said that several operators in Indonesia had started to roll out 5G internet for commercial purposes. This is a factor in the increasing interest of Indonesian consumers to have a 5G cellphone.

“We think consumer preference for 5G phones will grow with the launch of 5G services,” he said.
