A woman in Antalya, southern Turkey, gave birth to a child after she was previously infected with the coronavirus and contracted Covid-19. She gave birth to a healthy girl. The hospital staff and the doctors are happy with the new mother, who obviously got infected while shopping.
When Cigdem Akman was diagnosed with the coronavirus, she was almost nine months pregnant. Since the situation was very stressful, she tried to keep her mood high for the baby in her belly and the little son at home. Health workers at Manavgat Hospital in Antalya have done everything to ensure that she and the baby are safe. It was dealt with by the Turkish Science Council.
Mother and daughter are doing fine
After 10 days of treatment, Akman was able to defeat the virus in her body. During her last stages of pregnancy, she visited the same hospital for two weeks. She said she needed to get diapers and milk and said, “Anyone can get the virus. My husband was gone and my parents are very old. Still, I wish I had never left my house.” She added that health workers treated her well and kept her morale high.
Akman regretted that she hadn’t worn gloves or a mask when going out to shop. “If there is a mild symptom, you should go to the hospital immediately,” she added. The hospital’s chief physician, Mehmet Cinar, said: “She is pregnant, is getting Covid-19 and still gives birth in good health. This is a rare case around the world. This is good news that has raised our morale.” Akman’s gynecologist said, “She responded quickly to the treatment. There is not much data to suggest that a mother who tested positive for the coronavirus would transmit the virus to her baby before birth. The mother and daughter are in good health I hope this will be a glimmer of hope. ”
