Indonesian Monkeypox Suspect Becomes 17 Cases, All Discarded!

Monkeypox recently caused a stir in the world because of the rapidly increasing number of cases. Spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Mohammad Syahril, said a total of 17 suspected monkeypox patients in Indonesia.

However, the PCR tests of the 17 patients were negative, so all patients were discarded.

“Now there are 17, initially he was a suspect. When he checked with PCR, he was negative, so he discarded his name,” said Syahril when met by detikcom, South Jakarta, Wednesday (10/8/2022).

“The 17 patients discarded all of them,” he stressed again.

For information, cases of monkeypox are known to increase significantly in non-endemic countries. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there have been more than 31,000 cases of monkeypox.
