The apparition of this woman, born in Jakarta on May 27, 2003, was then showered with praise. Shahnaz Indira considered successful it shows that women like her who are outside the “beauty standards” of society in general have the same opportunities.

Being a model never crossed his mind. Shahnaz, who claims to dream of becoming an architect, realizes that his body is far from the criteria of most models: thin, tall, half face.

Until one day I-vy Models, a local modeling agency, offered her a job as a model and made her a little aware of a potential she didn’t see herself.

What was previously considered a deficiency has become an added value and is unique to Shahnaz. Just starting her career as a model last year, she got a call from the international modeling agency Milk Model Management, which led to London Fashion Week.

Shahnaz arrived in London moments after the world was shaken by news of Queen Elizabeth II’s death on Thursday (09/08/2022). There was uncertainty as to whether or not London Fashion Week would continue as Britain entered a 10-day period of mourning. Burberry even canceled its one-man show in honor of the queen.

“But I always try to think positively. At least there is a show I can attend,” said the eldest of two.

Still going strong because the time difference didn’t stop Shahnaz from going back and forth. She could participate in five castings a day. “I raced there, I raced here, because times were really tight. It’s really fun to get there NGObreathless“He said.

Shahnaz’s struggle paid off when she received news that Simone Rocha wanted to include her as a model.

Simone Rocha is one of the designers whose work is always awaited at LFW. Simone’s creations accompanied the appearance of world celebrities, including the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton.

LFW is over but Shahnaz Indira will remain temporarily in London at least until November. “There will be a commercial week in the next few months. They are still looking for models for the presentations of the collections. So I’ll be here first to see the opportunities that exist,” she said.
