Frost Advisory Issued for⁢ Central Ohio as Temperatures dip

Columbus, OH -⁤ A frost advisory ‍is in effect for most of central Ohio, according to teh National Weather Service (NWS)‍ in Wilmington, raising⁣ concerns for sensitive outdoor plants. The advisory, issued October 9, 2025, warns that frost could be detrimental to vegetation not protected from the cold.

The NWS⁣ cautions⁤ that “frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation,” and ​”sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.”⁢ Residents are urged to take immediate steps to protect tender plants. This advisory follows a period of fluctuating weather in the region, marked by a‌ recent dry ⁣spell and a significant ⁤cooling trend after unusually warm late-summer and early-fall temperatures, punctuated by several instances of ‍heavy rainfall.
