During the vaccination action week, many people also visited the vaccination points on Sunday. In the Hungarian Army Health Center alone, about 15,000 vaccinations were given this week. Among them more than a thousand people received the first dose of vaccination – said Róbert Wikonkál, Director General of the Budapest Army Hospital on his Sunday night show.
In his opinion, the vaccination action week showed that people could be reached and he was pleased that the action week would continue for another week.
The Director-General called vaccination of the 5-11 age group an important step. This is because in the current wave of the virus, many people in children’s communities, kindergartens and schools are getting sick.
Norbert Wikonkál said that the number of coronavirus patients in the Military Hospital was slowly increasing, but
based on what has happened so far, the situation is pretty good.
He also talked about those of the vaccinees going to the hospital, the intensive care unit, who are considered at risk. The among the unvaccinated however, there are also vibrant, healthy people in their thirties who need hospital treatment.
