The marketing of cigarettes and cigarette tobacco containing menthol and menthol-derived additives will soon be banned, World economy. A government decree on the production, placing on the market and control of tobacco products, combined warnings and detailed rules on the application of health fines has been amended in the Hungarian Gazette.
The following paragraph is added: “The placing on the market of cigarettes and cigarette tobacco containing menthol and additives containing menthol derivatives in addition to the additives listed in Annex 4 shall be prohibited.” This Regulation shall enter into force on the thirtieth day following that of its publication on 27 December.
Like that we wrote, In May 2020, the ban on menthol cigarettes in the European Union came into force. Flavored cigarettes and other tobacco products were already banned in 2016, but products with a market share of more than 3 percent than menthol cigarettes have been delayed until then.
