Index – Culture – Gyula Bodrogi is fine, if I let him go, he would go home

Gyula Bodrogi, the nation’s actor, was taken to the Clinic of Cardiovascular Medicine in Városmajor by ambulance on Friday, because the 88-year-old artist did not feel well in the morning and could not breathe. Bodrogit, who had been treated with similar symptoms ten days earlier, was cared for in the intensive care unit, and the whole country was worried about the legendary actor. On Saturday, we were able to speak in person with the Kossuth Prize-winning artist, thank God, if he relied on it, he would go home from the hospital.

On Friday we could only talk to Gyula Bodrogi’s faithful companion, Angéla, the artist slept intensely, then we did not yet know how serious the trouble was. On Saturday afternoon, however, he picked up the phone himself when we inquired about his condition. It was good to hear his distinctive, hoarse voice, which we would know from thousands.

Thank you for your interest, thank goodness, I’m much better now, so much so that if it were up to me, I’d go home, but I’m very taken care of here, Professor Béla Merkely still takes care, the main thing is caution. I could go tomorrow, but it will be Sunday, probably fired on Monday

The actor told the Index.

Of course we also wanted to hear from him what was really wrong on Friday morning.

I actually had a shortness of breath, and Angela thought it better to call Professor Merkely, and she immediately sent an ambulance for me. I got into the intensive care unit, went out of sleep, rested myself, and now I’m fine. They say different calcifications, wear is the problem, but I can’t tell you more, I’m just fine and I hope to be home soon

Said Gyula Bodrogi.
