“Indestructible Robert Karaś Fights for World Record in Brutal Brasil Ultra Tri Competition Despite Injury: Updates and Challenges on the Route”

The Brasil Ultra Tri competition in Rio de Janeiro is one of the most difficult competitions that await the best triathletes in the world. It is as much as 38 kilometers to swim, 1800 kilometers to ride a bike and 422 kilometers to run. Karaś set himself a goal not only to win, but also to beat the world record held by Belgian Kenneth Vanthuyne (182 hours, 43 minutes and 43 seconds).

And although both swimming and cycling did not cause any major problems for the Pole, problems appeared during the run.

“Unfortunately, Robert’s injury from Switzerland has renewed. Even walking is a big problem for him. We take a longer rest, reduce the swelling. We are optimistic, no one thinks about throwing the gloves away,” he wrote on Instagram on Tuesday before midnight.

“Maybe in the evening will come happiness and glory”

Karaś happily returned to the competition and it seems that he will finish the competition in the next few hours.

“We have entered the time of the final battle. There are less than 100 km to the end of the run. Robert is already working on maximum extreme pain and fatigue” – wrote on the player’s profile on Friday after 3 pm.

“When we take Rybka to the room during the break, he can fall asleep in our arms. He is motivated, brave. He has the support of his team members who do their best to relieve and take off at least a little fatigue from his shoulders. We have a whole day of hot and cold ahead of us sun, we will leave sweat, blood and tears, and maybe in the evening happiness and glory will come.

Problems before the finish line

Unfortunately, before 21, Karaś informed about another injury, which was also suffered by the vice-leader and the second of the White-Reds Jurand Czabański almost at the same time.

– It’s inflammation of the tibial muscle. Jurand also suffered the same injury, and it happened maybe 5 minutes later. 50 kilometers left, Jurand 200. Unfortunately, you will have to go to the finish line. It can’t be redone. It will take me 10 hours, Jurand 40 – said the leader of the struggle via Instagram.

Shortly after midnight, an entry was added: “21 laps of 1600 m left to finish the whole race. We still have a problem with our leg. Therefore, it will take us a bit longer. Robert switched from running to walking”.

If nothing unexpected happens, Karaś should finish the fight on Saturday.
