Increase of six positions in the FIFA ranking for the Latvian football team

Latvian men’s national football team in the renewed International Football Federation Association (FIFA) has risen six places in the world and ranks 136th.

The Latvian national team held two in November UEFA League of Nations games, as well as one test match, in which the San Marino national team managed to win 3: 0 away. In the last game with 5: 0 destroyed Andorra, but even previously played a draw 1: 1 with the Faroe Islands.

Previously, the Latvian national team ranked 142nd in the FIFA ranking, with 1071 points, but now it has 1082 points and 136th position.

Of the countries of the Association of European Football Federations (UEFA), Latvia is ahead only of Andorra, Moldova, Liechtenstein, Malta, Gibraltar and San Marino.

Lithuanians next to the gods have risen to the position of 129th, while Estonians are still in the 109th position.

The Latvian national team record in the FIFA rank is the 45th place, which was achieved in 2009. The anti-record is the 148th position in 2017.

Belgium, the bronze medalist of the 2018 World Cup, still holds the leading position in the FIFA ranking, ahead of the trophy winner France. Next are Brazil, England, Portugal, Spain, but Uruguay has changed places with Argentina, which has risen to the seventh position. Mexico and Italy also won two places, in ninth and tenth place, respectively, while Croatia dropped to 11th place – a drop of two places.

Equatorial Guinea and Burundi have risen the most in ten places. The first of them is in 134th place, but the second – in 138th position.
