In Vaterstetten and Zorneding:Dog owners network
There is great concern about poison baits being laid out
–
A long walk with the dog should actually contribute to relaxation for humans and animals. But in Vaterstetten and Zorneding, hardly any dog owner dares to look away from his animal, because in the past few weeks there had been several indications of alleged poisonous bait or pieces of meat prepared with needles or staples. At the end of January, twelve dog owners from Vaterstetten offered a reward of 1,000 euros for tips that help to identify the perpetrator (s). Now a second group of dog friends from Vaterstetten and Zorneding have also collected donations, a good 1700 euros were raised in the first few days, and they too should be an incentive to help find the culprits.
But the worried dog owners don’t want to stop there; they now want to make each other aware of dangers via social networks and collect information there. This happens on the one hand in the Facebook group “Hundefreunde Baldham”, which 278 members had joined by Sunday evening, and in two Whatsapp groups, which are mainly used to warn each other. “The primary goal of the group should be to better protect our dogs against such dangers through mutual timely information. In addition, every constructive exchange among the group members on topics related to our fur noses is welcome, as is every dog friend even without their own four-legged friend”, says one of the initiators. The new flyers with the QR codes of the groups are now hanging in shops and in significant places. Only in Zorneding does the current poster ordinance not allow this, here the posters are currently only displayed on private property.
However, there is one thing the dog lovers emphatically point out: references to poison bait or other dangers must be reported to the Poingen police on telephone (08121) 99170.
