The circumstances of the fatal accident in Malinovka, Malin community, Zhytomyr region are being investigated by the regional police and the State Bureau of Investigations.
On the evening of April 3, the body of a man hit by a car was found in Malinovka, Malinovskaya community, Zhytomyr region. About this April 4 informed Main Directorate of the National Police (GUNP) in the region.
“Law enforcers have installed a car involved in the road accident, the driver of which fled from the scene. […] On the territory of the region, a police operation “Interception” was introduced, since the circumstances recorded at the scene indicated the death of a person as a result of a traffic accident. A local resident, born in 1974, was fatally injured, “the message says.
Militiamen found out that a green Škoda car was involved in the accident. During the night such cars and their owners were checked.
“On one of the streets of the city of Malin, a car with characteristic mechanical damage was found. During the check of its owner, it was established that the car belongs to a policeman of the local police department, born in 1988, who was seconded to the Criminal Investigation Department of the GUNP on April 1,” police.
Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Art. 286 (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation is being conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation.
The police launched an internal investigation.
