Al-Marsad Newspaper: Historian Dr. Muhammad Al-Zalfa revealed the name of the tribe that ruled the Asir region, before the first Saudi state.
Al Zulfa said, during his time as a guest on the pictured programme: “The Bani Mughid tribe was the one that ruled the Asir region, before the first Saudi state.”
He added that the Bani Mughid tribe was one of the four Asir tribes and had leadership over neighboring tribes within the region.
And he went on to say that whoever rules Asir as a tribe is said to be a descendant of Yazid bin Muawiyah, because when the Umayyad dynasty fell, the Umayyads scattered to many places, due to the cruelty of the Abbasids against them.
