As a result of a traffic accident in Odessa, a 31-year-old passenger of a Hyundai Sonata car died on the spot, two more people were injured, the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.
In the Odessa region, a patrol policeman was informed of a suspicion of an accident, in which a law enforcement officer died on the evening of March 5. About this on March 6 stated the press service of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office on its Facebook page.
“The investigation established that on the evening of March 5, an inspector of the regional department of the patrol police in the Odessa region drove an official Toyota Prius. On the Kiev-Odessa highway, in the area of operation of the Dachnoe stationary post, he drove into the left lane (in the direction he was driving)”, – says the message.
According to the investigation, the inspector created an obstacle in the movement of the Hyundai Sonata, which was moving in the direction of Odessa, and as a result, a collision occurred.
“As a result of a traffic accident, a 31-year-old passenger of a Hyundai Sonata car died on the spot, two more were injured, the severity of which is currently being established,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
A pre-trial investigation has begun in criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles).

Five of them were hospitalized with various injuries and fractures. Another law enforcement officer refused hospitalization, the publication reported.
On the evening of March 5 on the Odessa-Kiev highway there was an accident involving a Hyundai car and a service car of the Toyota Prius patrol police. A Hyundai passenger was killed, the driver and two more passengers of this car were injured.
