In the Locker Room, D33: With six games to go, Nantes must come out of the turmoil

The three points seem promised to Olympique Lyonnais tonight at La Beaujoire, as the level gap with FC Nantes is abysmal. But, as observed on the lawn of the Park, Antoine Kombouaré’s players can play without complex against one of the champions of the championship. The victory has eluded them since October 18 at home.
The game
On paper, the poster is unbalanced. Nantes (19th), unable to win on its lawn for six months to the day, is in a very delicate position before facing Lyon (4th). Depending on the result of Nîmes against Strasbourg this afternoon, the Yellows can find themselves at least three points from the play-off position. For its part, OL are still playing the title and will not come to the Beaujoire.
The form
Nantes side – A draw against Lorient with a taste of defeat (1-1) and two losses against Nice (1-2) and in the derby in Rennes last week (0-1): beyond the latest results, it is the content, close to nothing, which worries Nantes. At Roazhon Park, Alban Lafont’s teammates appeared unable to score a goal, shooting just four times in the game. A sign of hope is found in the unlikely success in Paris, a little over a month ago (2-1).
Lyon side – After having taken only one point in three games (draws in Reims and Lens 1-1, defeat against Paris 2-4), and having come very close to the door in the Coupe de France (qualifying on penalties against the Red Star), Olympique Lyonnais recovered last weekend. A 3-0 home victory against Angers still gives him the right to believe in the title (Lille is six points), or at least a qualification in the Champions League.
Last confrontations
In the first leg, there was no photo since Rudi Garcia’s players had largely won, 3-0. Last season, Nantes won on the lawn of Groupama Stadium (1-0). On January 18, 2020, at Beaujoire, the Canaries were eliminated in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France (3-4).
