In the center of the Dnieper, Hanukia was tumbled down: vandals were detained

On Monday, November 29, in the center of the Dnieper, vandals cut wires and knocked down Chanukiah. The incident is very bothered Jewish communities of Dnepropetrovsk region and the whole country.

Regarding the incident, they contacted the police and the SBU. It is reported by Informant, referring to the Telegram channel of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine.

Judging by video from surveillance cameras, November 29, at 5:48 am, five guys turned off the power to Chanukiah, and then they shut down. The police opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of article 296 (hooliganism). On Tuesday, November 30, Rabbi of Dnipro Shmuel Kaminetsky said that four vandals had been detained. According to him, the guys are 18 years old and at the time of the incident they were in a state of intoxication. The police press service has not yet confirmed this information.
