No Movement Coordinator Andrei Pivovarov called on opponents of the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of Russia to gather for a rally in central Moscow to discuss the results of the vote. He published his appeal in his telegram.

Ilya Azar, the municipal deputy of the Moscow region of Khamovniki, also announced his intention to go to Pushkinskaya Square on his blog. According to the correspondent of the BBC Russian Service Ilya Barabanov, already around four o’clock in the afternoon, units of the Russian Guard and police were on duty on the square in an amount exceeding the usual.

The protest rally took place in the center of St. Petersburg on Palace Square. Residents demanded to cancel the cancellation of the terms of incumbent President Vladimir Putin and not to rewrite the Constitution, the correspondent of Sever.Realiya reports.

About one hundred people took part in the action. They held in their hands the old version of the Constitution and posters. They were ousted from the square by officers of the police, the Russian Guard and the city communal complex, several people were detained, some before they managed to get to the rally.
