(ANSA) – GENOA, 25 OCT – Frightening accident last night in Genoa, in the Quezzi district, in Piazzetta Pedegoli. A young man crashed into the car at full speed, overwhelming a group of boys, some of them minors. Four injured, including two girls aged 16 and 17 – one pregnant – are now in very serious conditions in the Genoese hospitals of Villa Scassi and San Martino. One risks having her leg amputated.
The young car owner, a 23-year-old, was stopped, subjected to toxicological tests, and is interrogated at the police station. According to some witnesses, there were more people in the car, which is why the prosecutor Daniela Pischetola asked the municipal police for further investigations. Tracked down around four in the morning not far from home, the boy had the keys to the car parked under the house in his pocket.
When the BMW swooped into the square at full speed, it hit a scooter and the group of young people, who were chatting. In the crash, the scooter caught fire and some residents took to the street to put out the flames and provide assistance. The driver resumed driving and ran away. In the escape, however, he lost the plate thanks to which he was identified (ANSA).
