Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, highlighted that in some states it is “frankly disappearing or is in an accelerated reduction in the daily number of cases that are registered and presented.”
“Note that when we see the cases of the last 14 days, there has been an important variation in the first places of occurrence, except for Mexico City, which due to its size has always remained the first, sometimes the second,” he explained.
Another point highlighted by the Undersecretary of Health is that fewer people are entering hospitals than those who leave and the case fatality has remained stable, “which means that they leave home, to recover, some for a long period , others for a not so long period ”.
He explained that “today, in Mexico” the epidemic grows at a rate of 1.9 percent.
When we have said, with all certainty that the epidemic is slowing down, we refer to this (Percentage change of accumulated confirmed cases) among other multiple indicators.
While in the case of “Percentage change in the total accumulated notified cases”, which on March 29 grew to 10 by the way, on June 27 they grew only to 2.2 percent.
“Clearly, the epidemic is slowing down; in terms of the classic epidemic curve, that of new cases, incident cases, that means that it rose, rose, rose and is beginning to reach the intermediate zone, just today that we are in the second half of June, ”he added.
