In September, the secondary market of electric vehicles in Russia grew 2.1 times :: Autonews

Russians bought 663 used electric cars in September, which is 2.1 times more than the number of such cars purchased in the same period a year earlier. This is evidenced by data analytical portal “Autostat”.

The source notes that the vast majority of purchases fell on the Nissan Leaf model – 614 cars, which is almost 93% of the total.

In addition to Leaf, Russians also bought Mitsubishi i-MiEV (15 times), Tesla Model S (13 times), BMW i3 and Tesla Model X (7 times each), Hyundai Ioniq (3 times), as well as Jaguar I-Pace and LADA Ellada (2 times).

Statistics show that the Far Eastern regions are the most active buyers of used electric vehicles.

So, most of all electric cars were bought by residents of the Irkutsk region – 85 cars. Primorye (60) and Khabarovsk Territory (36) are in the top three. Further in the ranking are Krasnodar Territory, Novosibirsk and Moscow Regions, Amur Region and Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Residents of Moscow in September purchased only 20 used electric vehicles – the capital is in ninth place on this list.

In the first nine months of 2020, the Russian market for used electric cars grew by 58% compared to the same period last year.

It is interesting that with a growing secondary market, the primary market is also developing – if we compare the September sales of new electric cars with sales in September 2019, then the fresh figures are 4 times higher than the previous ones.
