On Saturday, June 27, in Rūjiena and Stende, the record of the maximum air temperature of June 27 was corrected, the agency LETA found out at the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.
On Saturday, the record of the day’s maximum air temperature was broken at several observation stations.
At Rūjiena and Stende observation stations, the air warms up to +30.7 degrees, which is a new Latvian record on June 27, thus surpassing the +30.6 degrees recorded in 1972 in Jelgava and Priekuli.
Also yesterday, new maximum air temperature records were set for June 26 – the air in Kolka warms up to +27.8 degrees, but in Pāvilosta the air temperature reached +29.1 degrees.
