These images of police officers attacked in Poissy arouse outrage

POLICE – No injuries but a big fear. Police officers, called to disperse a crowd, were taken to task this Saturday, February 13 at the end of the afternoon, in Poissy in the Yvelines. They were greeted by about thirty people who threw projectiles and fireworks at them, relays BFMTV.

On Twitter, the Independent Union of Police Commissioners (SICP) posted a video taken from the group of young people in which one can clearly hear one of the attackers saying about the police officers: “kill them, kill them all”.

The sequence triggered many reactions, starting with that of the mayor of the city, Karl Olive. In a press release the various right-wing councilor of Poissy expressed his “frustration” while the town hall considers that it has made many investments for young people, but also his anger: “there can be no excuse for such acts ”. Like the SICP, the elected representative who calls for calm, is also annoyed with the recommendations of the defender of rights, Claire Hédon, who has offers Friday to test areas without identity checks in order to respond in particular to discrimination.

A criticism taken up by the LREM deputy for Indre-et-Loire, François Jolivet, who for his part pointed to “lawless areas”.

Other elected officials have also expressed their indignation at these images, like the LR deputy of Bouches du Rhône, Valérie Boyer, or the president of Debout la France, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan.

LR MP Michèle Tabarot also gave her full support to the police, writing on Twitter: “Wherever the state is challenged, the government must unabashedly combine firmness and an exemplary criminal response to regain control of neighborhoods plagued by ultra -violence and insecurity ”.
