Argentine cause Lionel Messi, Barcelona’s Spanish captain, in a clamor in his hometown, “Rosario”, after news of his imminent departure from the Catalan club this summer increased.

The Argentine international player informed Barca officials last Tuesday that he wanted to leave the club after spending 19 years at the club.

Hundreds of Argentine club Newell Old Boys fans took to the streets of “Rosario”, from “Marcelo Bielsa” stadium to the flag monument, the symbol of the city on the banks of the Parana River.

Fans of the club, where Messi started his childhood career, carried team flags and blasted trumpets, wearing red and black team shirts, and chanting “flea” to return to Newell’s Old Boys.

Some car fans also came out in the demonstrations, and posters hung on their windows, with phrases including “All Argentina wants to see you smiling.”

Newell’s fans are aware that their club does not have enough money to endure the inclusion of the 33-year-old, especially after Manchester City entered the line of negotiations with the player.

It is noteworthy that Messi began his football journey at the Argentine club in 1994, to spend 6 years in the ranks of his youth, before leaving for Barcelona at the age of 14.
