BVGood news for the fans of the Minions, because the cute yellow baddies are back on the big screen. This morning the premiere of ‘Minions 2: Hoe Gru Superschurk Became’, a spin-off of the film, took place in Kinepolis Ostend. In the presence of some familiar faces and their children.

In the heart of the 1970s, Gru grows up in the suburbs. He is a fanboy of a band of super-villains known as the ‘Vicious 6’ and devises a plan to become evil enough to join them. Fortunately, he gets backup from his loyal followers, the Minions. Together with Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Otto – a new Minion with braces and a desperate need for attention – they develop their skills and experiment with their new weapons to complete their first mission.

When the leader of the ‘Vicious 6’, the legendary fighter Wild Knuckles, is ousted from the group, Gru takes his chance to become the gang’s newest member. This isn’t smooth sailing (to say the least), and only gets worse when Gru outsmarts them and suddenly becomes the enemy of all evil. Gru turns to an unlikely source for help, Wild Knuckles himself, and discovers that even bad guys sometimes need a little help from their friends.

In the Flemish version of this feel-good film full of humor, references to pop culture, cheerful music and over-the-top action, we hear Koen Van Impe, Gene Bervoets, Sandrine Van Handenhoven, Ingeborg Sergeant, Günther Lesage and Walter Baele.
