In October, the police launched 185 administrative infringement proceedings for non-compliance with epidemiological safety measures

In October, the police initiated 185 administrative violation proceedings for non-compliance with epidemiological security measures, the State Police informed.

93 processes were started directly for non-compliance with self-isolation.

Also, 43 administrative violation proceedings have been initiated for non-completion of the electronic questionnaire on the website covidpass.lv and 35 proceedings for conducting business in cultural, sports, entertainment and public catering places after the working hours mentioned in the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers.

During this period, the police carried out 4846 preventive inspections and responded to 24 calls in order to detect possible assembly violations. 2842 inspections were carried out in public catering establishments, where 47 times police officers have given preventive instructions.

During checks on persons who have crossed the state border in the last ten days, police officers have made 20,670 telephone calls, left 2,637 on-site inspections and responded to 18 calls.

Currently, 19,382 persons under police supervision have registered in the covidpass.lv information system, who need to observe self-isolation, but this number is constantly changing.

We remind you that currently arriving in Latvia from any country, you must fill in the electronic confirmation on the website covidpass.lv. If a person comes from a country that is listed on the website of the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control as a country with a serious threat to public health, ten days of self-isolation must also be observed.

It is also now mandatory to wear face masks in shops, public transport, medical facilities and other public places. From October 28, private events may gather up to 10 people, keeping a distance of two meters, while public events indoors – up to 300 people, while gathering no more than 50% of the total possible number of people in the room.

In addition, only events with fixed, personalized seating may take place on the premises.
