In October, the five – year anniversary will be celebrated by the cultural event “Riga Ball” The news

Riga, Sept. 21, LETA. The cultural event “Rīgas balle” will celebrate its five-year anniversary on October 10 at the House of Blackheads, the organizers of the event informed LETA.

In honor of this event, the winners of the Latvian Musical Prizes and Dance Championships, the debutants of the ball – students of educational institutions who have participated in the selection and preparation stages will take part in the festive event.

The organizers of the “Riga Ball” have prepared a festive program for the anniversary event. The event will be attended by the winners of the Latvian Dance Prize – Latvian National Opera and Ballet soloist Jūlija Brauere and choreographer Milana Komarova, Grand Music Prize winners – opera singer Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine and conductor Atvars Lakstīgala.

Latvian opera singers Evita Teterovska and Nauris Indzeris, multiple Latvian champions in sports dances – Ernests Aksels Dimants and Marija Paščenko and others will also perform at the anniversary event. The guests of the event will also be able to watch the performances of the young ballet dancers – the dance academy, headed by choreographer and artistic director of “Rīgas bales” Tālis Sils, while the future debutants – “Exupery International School” students – will perform the waltz. The leader of “Riga Ball 2020” will be Armands Simsons.

“Rīgas balli” will be opened by the debutants’ first dance – polonaise. This year’s debutants are pupils and students aged 17 to 24 studying at the University of Latvia, Riga Stradins University, Riga Stockholm School of Economics, Latvia University of Agriculture, Riga State German Gymnasium, Riga Classical Gymnasium, “RISEBA”, “ISMA”, Riga Dome choir school, Riga Secondary School No. 88, Riga Construction College, Riga Kengarags Secondary School and University of Amsterdam College.

In cooperation with the Latvian Children’s Fund, a charity event will take place, the aim of which is to support talented young musicians, winners of the “Talent for Latvia” competition. Last year, cellist Reinis Rudzitis received support, this year all the funds raised during the campaign will be directed to Latvian saxophonist Zane Medvede.
