In Marseille, FO comes out weakened by the professional elections

In Marseille’s town hall, the Force Ouvrière (FO) lost its majority position after the elections – with entirely electronic voting – which ended on 8 December. The union remains the most representative of the 12,000 city officials (41.72% of the vote), but will now fill only seven of the fifteen seats on the Territorial Social Committee (CST), compared to eight during the term that ended.

“We would have liked the results to have been more favorable to us, but we have kept the essentials,” comments Patrice Ayache, for FO. We have suffered from a particularly complex voting procedure, which has not adapted to the participation of categories C, which are traditionally the most favorable for us ”, he regrets.

The turnout is strong but declining

The participation of categories A amounts to 71.81%. It is 59.54% among category B agents and drops to 48.3% among category C agents.
