In Lithuania, infection with the new coronavir virus has been confirmed in 252 people in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 7521 cases of Covid-19 infection have been registered in Lithuania, and recovery has been confirmed in 3097 people.

No deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in Lithuania in the last 24 years, but in total the disease has claimed 113 lives.

During the past day, most cases of Covid-19 were detected in Vilnius County, where 97 people were infected with the new coronavirus.

Infection with the new coronavirus was detected in 43 people in Klaipeda district and 39 in Kaunas county.

105 new infections are associated with known virus outbreaks.

According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the 14-day cumulative number of infections per 100,000 population on 18 October in Lithuania is 70.15.
