For their fourth home game this season, the Krefeld Penguins will receive the reigning German ice hockey champion Eisbären Berlin on Sunday at 4.30 p.m. This leads to a brother duel between Matthias Niederberger, who guards the polar bears’ gate, and his younger brother Leon, who has been wearing the penguin jersey since summer 2020.

While the Krefeld team were able to put their feet up on Friday after their first win of the season against Iserlohn (4: 3) on Thursday, the polar bears were still challenged in their own hall against Wolfsburg. Before the game against the runner-up, Berlin was sixth in the table with nine points from five games. Krefeld is currently 13th with four points from five matches.
