Ukrainians, as well as Russians, refused to wear protective masks and actively consumed alcoholic beverages brought with them.

A large-scale police operation was carried out at Frankfurt am Main Airport in connection with the illegal actions of a group of 32 drunken sailors from Russia and Ukraine. The violators were on their way home on a flight from Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, with a stopover in Germany, the federal police at Germany’s largest airport said on Monday, January 24.

“After they, despite repeated requests, refused to wear protective masks, cheerfully consumed the alcoholic beverages they brought with them and did not pay attention to the instructions of the crew, the captain called the federal police while still in the air,” the representative of the department said. According to him, three of the men also molested the flight attendants.

After landing the plane in the early morning of January 23, a group of sailors who were in a state of extreme intoxication were met by a large number of employees of the federal and state police, it is reported further. Administrative cases were initiated against the violators, 13 of them had to pay up to 530 euros, three more suspected of harassing crew members – 1030 euros each. The group was then able to continue their journey without further incident, the statement continued.

Earlier, on a dry cargo ship that arrived in the Bangladeshi port of Chittagong from Egypt, one after another for no apparent reason or illness two Ukrainian sailors died.
