In Cuba, the sixth general has already died in a short period of time, according to local media. The death became known on Wednesday evening, the causes of death were not named.
Gilberto Antonio Cordero Sánchez participated in the underground struggle and the rebel army. In May 1957, he joined the first column of the rebel army.
In the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Sanchez performed various duties related to engineering units in preparation for military action.
The general’s body was cremated, the ashes would later be placed in the mausoleum of the Second Eastern Front of Frank Pais in the province of Santiago de Cuba.
Previously reportedthat in Cuba, five high-ranking generals died in a 10-day interval, the first of them died on July 17.
