In court for sending images of her sex on Snapchat

Between 2014 and 2017, the young man had seen fit to show his gender on the social network. Annoyed teenage girls ended up filing a complaint. His trial took place Monday afternoon.

“Normally in the surveys that concern us, men ask for pictures of girls.” Investigators from the youth protection section of the judicial police have already seen a bunch of cases. The one exhibited Monday afternoon at the 7e correctional room is “atypical” in the sense that the 25-year-old young man who ended up on the dock did not collect child pornography. No, it was he himself who photographed his genitals and then disseminated his images through social networks.

This is also how the case came to light at the end of 2016. Two students from a high school in Ettelbruck, after talking to the director, went to the police to file a complaint. Aged 14 and 15 at the time, they also reported having had sexual propositions.

Seven Snapchat accounts instead of one

Entering the investigation, the youth protection section found that they were not the only minors with whom the individual had communicated. Thanks to data from her Facebook account, she quickly identified the young man living in the south of the country. The latter always proceeded a little in the same way. After analyzing their Facebook photo and finding their Snapchat username, he contacted the girls.

When the investigators arrived at his home at the end of October 2017, the Internet user did not hide his game. He admitted to having sent photos of his sex. “He can’t say how many girls he’s communicated with. But there were many, ”recapitulates the investigator. The young man did not have a single Snapchat account either, but seven. A way for him to continue to converse with the girls. Some had indeed blocked him after receiving his photos. He sometimes wrote the girl’s name on his penis with a pen. On other pictures sent, he had stuck his penis in the corner of a door or he was masturbating with a sock …

“Exhibitionist, masochist and fetishist”

For the expert neuropsychiatrist, the defendant presents three sexual disorders: “He is exhibitionist, masochist and fetishist.” During the search of his home, 129 photos of girls’ feet and socks were also found on his cell phone. Photos that he had obviously asked them for. Their analysis had also detected the Snapchat username of 25 girls.

On one of his computers, 145 child pornography images had also been detected. The investigation could not determine the origin of these disputed images. In the history of internet searches, no trace. It appears that the device has belonged to one of the brothers in the past. In any case, the defendant denies having been aware of the existence of this content.

All he concedes is having sent photos of his private parts. According to him, he would not have targeted a very specific age category. “I sent this to anyone. It was to satisfy me sexually ”, he reaffirmed Monday afternoon at the bar. He will end up talking about a “big mistake”. “When I was doing this, I didn’t consider it that serious.”
“And today, is it over?” The court wanted to know.
– “Yes, I have a fiancée. She’s sitting behind in the room. “

IGT or psychiatric treatment?

The first charges against the accused date back to 2014. Citing the overrun of the reasonable time that should be taken into account in the assessment of the sentence, his lawyer pleaded in favor of community service (TIG). He pleads for acquittal for the possession of the 145 child pornography images. “If he had had pedophile thoughts, he would have taken the opportunity to ask the girls for pictures,” said Me Brian Hellinckx. And to insist that for four years, his client has not stood out.

For parquet, however, simple TIG is not enough. “In view of the expert’s conclusions, he needs psychiatric follow-up,” said his representative before requesting 15 months in prison with a probationary suspension and an appropriate fine. He does not believe the accused wrote to teenage girls by chance. “Because for many, the year of birth appears in their username. He knew who he was dealing with: minors, partly under the age of 16. ”

Delivered on February 4.
