in Côte-d’Or and Dijon, the health situation continues to worsen

No good news this Saturday. While France has been confined since Saturday evening, the data published by Public Health France does not show a lull in Côte-d’Or, quite the contrary. The progression of the virus is becoming more and more important when the alert threshold was already exceeded yesterday. From now on, the incidence rate between March 25 and 31 is 261.6 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, while it was 256.7 per 100,000 between 24 and 30. La Côte-d ‘ Gold exceeds Saône-et-Loire and Haute-Saône, the latter being the least affected department in the region.

The Dijon metropolis close to the alert threshold

The figures are not good either in the metropolis of Dijon. Between March 25 and 31, the incidence rate is 245.2 per 100,000 against 239.8 between the 24 and 30. The metropolis is now dangerously close to the alert threshold set at 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The progression of the English variant still borders on the national average

As for variants, their presence is still on the rise in the department. The English variant is present at 79.9% (against 78.8% according to Friday’s figures) and continues to approach the national average, which is 81.4%. No significant improvement on the side of the Brazilian and South African variants, even if their presence is decreasing on Saturday: combined, their presence rate is 2.7% (against 3.2% yesterday).

Nine deaths in the region

The number of deaths continues to increase in the region as in Côte-d’Or. Saturday, there are two additional deaths attributed to Covid-19 in hospitals in the department, and nine in all hospital structures in Bourgogne Franche-Comté. It is again the Yonne which has the most daily deaths, with three deaths in one day.
