The director of the city Palace of Youth in Cherkassy, Elena Petrova, called the parents who gave their children rare names as bastards. Former secretary of the Cherkasy city council Alexander Radutsky wrote about this on Facebook.
Petrova in her post called rare names “garbage and a meaningless combination of letters.”

The official added that she personally supports such Ukrainian names as Tatiana, Oles, Svetlana, Ivan, Alexey and the like.
“The comments were on the social network, they carried a personal opinion and a private nature. Therefore, they had nothing to do with work. I ask you to take them that way,” she summed up.
