In Britain, severe penalties for violations of Covid-19 restrictions / Article / LSM.lv

The British government has imposed severe penalties for violating the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Residents may have to part with even 10,000 pounds or almost 11,000 euros for non-compliance with self-isolation orders.

The new rules will take effect in a week and will make it compulsory for people to adhere to self-isolation if they are infected with a coronavirus or have been close contacts with someone infected. Infringements will initially be subject to a £ 1,000 fine, but for repeated infringements, the amount of the fine may increase significantly.

The government has also provided a one-off £ 500 benefit for low-income people whose self-isolation means a loss of income. Employers who take action against their employees, who have to comply with self-isolation, will also be punished.

The British government will impose further restrictions, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that a second wave of infections has begun in the country. Nearly 4,000 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in the country the previous day.

CONTEXT:

About the new coronavirus spread China informed the World Health Organization (WHO) late last year in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, home to 11 million people. World Health Organization in March 2020 announcedthat Covid-19 has reached the level of a global pandemic.

A few months later, in the summer, there was a decline in the spread of the infection in Europe, which led to the lifting of a series of strict restrictions. However, in mid-September WHO warnedthat Europe will face an increase in Covid-19 coronavirus deaths in the autumn months.
