Children put on masks

The Ministry of Solidarity and Health and the prefecture of Deux-Sèvres have imposed the obligation to wear a mask for all children from the age of 6 in certain public places since January 3, 2022.

The rule must be applied in public transport, establishments open to the public, sports complexes (except when practicing a sport), places of worship and outdoors.

The Omicron tsunami submerges Deux-Sèvres

In its latest report, published on January 4, the departmental delegation of the Regional Health Agency is once again sounding the alarm.

The arrival of the Omicron variant on the territory has completely relaunched the Covid-19 machine and we can say that no age group is spared by this phenomenon.

Deux-Sèvres thus becomes the 7th neo-Aquitaine department where viral circulation is on the rise with very high virological indicators in the territory.

Mandatory mask wearing

The decree prescribing the wearing of a mask outdoors has been extended until Wednesday January 26, 2022 inclusive.

Wearing a mask therefore remains compulsory in open-air spaces hosting markets, unpacking sales and more generally for any gathering on the public highway.

Exceptional closure of the RD 148

From Monday January 10, the Département des Deux-Sèvres is closing the RD 148 between Faye-l’Abbesse and Noirterre. The Department wishes to connect this axis to the new road by a converted crossroads.

During the works, the departmental road 148 between Noiterre and Faye-l’Abbesse will be closed to traffic. The reopening of departmental road 148 should take place when the new lane is put into service, scheduled for the end of May 2022.

The fate of a hero

A 70-year-old woman was saved from drowning on Tuesday, January 4, by two gendarmes from the Parthenay motorized brigade in the town of Azay-sur-Thouet after jumping voluntarily into the Thouet river.

Warrant Officer Beruel and Warrant Officer Moufflet did not hesitate to jump into the water to help the victim.
