In an emergency situation, basketball in Latvia will be played only in FIBA ​​and “Pafbet” LIBL tournaments – Basketball

Taking into account the restrictions of the emergency situation announced by the Cabinet of Ministers Order No. 655, the Board of LBS has decided to suspend the Douglas Baltic Basketball League elites and international groups, Ramirent National Basketball League, Regional Basketball from November 9 to December 6, 2020. League and Latvian Youth Basketball League championships, as well as the Latvian Cup.

During this time, LIBL games will take place without the presence of spectators, with the participation of only adult athletes.

From Monday to December 6, the competitions included in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) competition calendar – women’s and men’s national team games and trainings, FIBA ​​Champions League and FIBA ​​Euroleague games in Latvia will take place without the presence of spectators.

The LBS Board calls on the basketball community to comply with the letter and spirit of the Epidemiological Safety Regulations and Cabinet Order No. 655 to halt the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic and bring closer the moment when it will be possible to resume playing basketball without restrictions.
