AMSTERDAM – Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogerbeets rose to international prominence after predicting devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria last month.

He now says the world could be hit by another major earthquake in the coming days.

Hoogerbeets made his predictions based on the motions of the celestial bodies. He published a video on YouTube on Monday in which he warned, “The first week of March is going to be critical.”

“Convergence of critical planetary geometries around March 2 and 5 could result in major to very large seismic activity, perhaps even a major thrust around March 3 and 4 and/or March 6 and 7,” states the clip’s description.

In the video itself, seismologists claim the strength of the expected quake will be “probably more than 8 on the Richter scale (SR)”.

“The affected area could stretch thousands of kilometers, from the Kamchatka Peninsula and the Kuril Islands in the Russian Far East, to the Philippines and Indonesia,” said Hoogerbeets.

“I’m not exaggerating. I’m not trying to create fear. This is a warning,” emphasized the scientist working at the Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS).
