Impending insolvency – Paracelsus Clinic in Saxony files for insolvency

The Saxon Paracelsus Clinic in Reichenbach has initiated insolvency proceedings due to impending insolvency. The clinic has appointed attorney Christopher Seagon as its insolvency administrator. The company continues as before, wages are secured up to the contribution assessment limit. In 2018 and 2019, the clinic was temporarily under heavy pressure. “The temporarily positive trend towards an improved operating result was mainly due to the government support payments caused by the pandemic. We can no longer turn a blind eye to that,” says clinic manager Lars Wunder. In addition, ever-increasing regulatory constraints such as the lower limits for nursing staff have exacerbated the situation.

The Paracelsus Klinik Reichenbach is a regional acute hospital providing basic and standard care. It has around 180 beds, spread over six departments and two treatment departments. Annually, 7,300 inpatients and 12,000 outpatients are treated. The clinic employs around 300 people.
