Coach Ten Hagh attended a pre-press conference held on the 28th and opened his mouth about Rashford’s performance. Rashford is showing a completely different look from last season. Rashford, who started the season late after undergoing shoulder surgery last season, started off well by scoring in two consecutive games after returning, but has not been able to properly operate the scorer since. He finished the season with 5 goals and 2 assists in 32 official matches.
However, Rashford, who met coach Eric ten Haag this season, showed a different look. In the first half of this season, Rashford has already surpassed the offensive points recorded last season by posting 8 goals and 3 assists in 19 games. Rashford, who returned after participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, became sharper. After the season resumed, he posted 10 goals and 3 assists in 10 games.
In the first leg against Nottingham Forest in the English League Cup semifinals held on the 26th, he broke through the dribble from his side, entered the penalty box, and finished with a left-footed shot to score a goal.
Ten Haag laughed at Rashford’s performance, saying, “I’m not Harry Potter.” He continued, “It’s just confidence. Every player has to have confidence. Rashford fought for this and invested in this.”
Ten Haag insisted that the coaching staff would help, but crucially, a player needed his confidence to develop. “Of course, with the coaching staff, we give Rashford the routines he needs to get into the right position and create the way he plays,” he said. “I’m sure.
