Luigi Massimello, 91 years old in November, has always looked after his health. «I never drank or smoked to be able to fly: I was an instructor for airplane pilots. They started from scratch and I taught them to travel alone. But I must admit that the night before their debut flight, solo, I was never able to sleep, ”he confides. Now he has decided to undergo the anti-Covid vaccination. With him his wife, Maria Luisa, 92 years old.

Luigi, are you and the lady ready?
“Yup. We would be available to go to any part of Piedmont to get vaccinated ».

Didn’t he have any doubts?
«Our family doctor, Dr. Diego Pavesio, contacted us by email on Saturday afternoon to ask us to be vaccinated and we immediately said yes. After ten minutes we were already on the list of those who had joined. We accepted immediately and my children communicated it to the doctor by replying to his email. Now we are waiting for the date of the meeting which should arrive on my son’s cell phone ».

In short, haven’t you wasted time?
“Absolutely. I am a fan of vaccines. As a child they taught me that they are important, I made my children do them even against polio, I myself have informed myself. Do not mention it. Then, after a lifetime of paying attention to health, this gesture seems important to me ».

Is there something today that gives you an extra incentive to get vaccinated like in the past the work of giving up bad habits?
“Sure”.

“My wife and I want to blow out the 100 candles.”

How long have you been together?
“It’s 66 years of marriage, but we knew each other before, in all seventy years.”

Now you will live another experience together, the anti-Covid vaccine.
“Yup. I am absolutely convinced that many diseases would not be compatible with the treatments we have, so vaccination is welcome. And then I have a lot of respect for my health care doctor, as I call him, Dr. Pavesio, who is a great supporter of vaccines and I could not disagree more ».

«Now we are waiting to be called, we hope as soon as possible. We still don’t know where to go but they just have to tell us and we are available ».
