Ilse DeLange honored with American Country Music Award | NOW

Ilse DeLange has won a prestigious American country music award. The Country Music Association (CMA) has awarded the singer the CMA Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award. American country star Carrie Underwood digitally presented the prize to the Dutch singer.

On Instagram, DeLange says he is grateful for the award given to country musicians outside the United States who have made an extraordinary contribution to the genre. “Thank you for this award. It is such an honor to receive this international award from the Country Music Association.”

The ceremony is organized every year in Nashville, a city that means a lot to DeLange. “Nashville is my second home and has always been a great inspiration to me.”

DeLange was presented the award via a video message from Underwood, who has since won American Idol in 2005 among the country’s greatest country artists. “You deserve this award so much for everything you have achieved with your music,” says Underwood. The American performed in 2018 at Tuckerville, the festival that DeLange organizes.

DeLange released her latest album (Changes) out last May.
