Ignasius Jonan Appointed as Independent Commissioner of Sido Appears Pages all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Industri Jamu and Pharmacy Sido Muncul Tbk (SIDO) appointed the former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for the 2016-2019 period, Ignasius Jonan, as an Independent Commissioner.

This was decided by the shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) which was held on Wednesday (25/11/2020).

In addition, the shareholders also agreed to appoint Yong Taeg Park as an Independent Commissioner.

“Approved to appoint Mr. Young Taeg Park and Mr. Ignasius Jonan as Independent Commissioners of the Company which will be effective since the closing of this Meeting,” as quoted from the EGMS results document, Wednesday (25/11/2020)

The change in the company’s management was made due to the resignation of Ronnie Behar from the position of the company’s independent commissioner.

The term of office for Jonan and Park is the remaining term of office of the member of the board of commissioners who resigned, which will end at the closing of the company’s Annual GMS in 2022.

Jonan, through his official Instagram account, also said that he had been appointed to be part of Sido Muncul’s board of commissioners.

He even admitted that he admired the figure of the Director of Sido Muncul Irwan Hidayat, who played an important role in the development of the herbal medicine industry in Indonesia.

“I really admire Mr. Irwan Hidayat’s pioneering work in developing many superior products, namely @tolak_angin @energiku and many products, and other breakthroughs for the herbal medicine industry in the country. Thank you,” wrote Jonan.

Currently, Jonan also serves as an Independent Commissioner of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk UNVR who was appointed on July 24, 2020.

He was also the President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) during 2009-2014.

In addition, Jonan served as Minister of Transportation in 2014-2016 and was Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2016-2019, under the administration of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
