Ighalo Pass Zlatan, Approach 95 Years Record at MU

Odion Ighalo has apparently passed Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s achievements at Manchester United, as well as approaching a record that is almost a century old at his club.

It happened as Ighalo’s contribution in Man United’s last match, when the 2-1 win over Norwich in the FA Cup quarterfinals at the weekend.

Appearing as a starter, the Nigerian striker, on loan from Manchester United from Shanghai Shenhua, scored his team’s first goal in the 51st minute. That was his fifth goal in 11 appearances for the Red Devils.

As noted MirrorOdion Ighalo has also become the second player in MU history to be able to routinely score in his first four starts in competitive matches, namely against Club Brugge, Derby, LASK and Norwich.

The cut past Zlatan Ibrahimovic who had scored in his first three starts with Manchester United namely Leicester, Bournemouth and Southampton in the 2016/2017 season.

According to chooseOdion Ighalo now has the opportunity to equal nicks from Jimmy Hanson in 1925, if he can again make a goal in the next game installed as a starter at MU.
