Iga Świątek (1st WTA) completely dominated the last few weeks in the women’s tennis. The Polish woman can boast a series of 35 wins matches no failure. The 21-year-old has triumphed in six consecutive tournaments – Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, Rome and Roland Garros. Now, the competition is ahead of the world ranking leader Wimbledonie.

Iga Świątek expressed regret. “I should be checking the facts”
The 21-year-old has been in London for several days, where she is getting ready for the competition that begins on Monday grand slam. In the breaks between trainings, the Polish woman gives interviews. And although the leader of the WTA ranking on the court is almost infallible, she sometimes makes blunders in an interview with the media.
One of them took place a few days ago in an interview with the six-time winner of the Grand Slam tournaments in game double and mixed, Rennae Stubbs. The former Australian tennis player acts as an expert and commentator during this year’s competition at Wimbledon. During the conversation, Świątek probably entered a fight with the former leader of the doubles ranking and did not know if she had previously played on central court. She herself claimed yes. There was a misunderstanding, for which the Polish woman then publicly apologized to Stubbs. A video of the 21-year-old’s apology was published in social media.
– Sorry for humiliating Rennae Stubbs during the interview. I’ve never played on court central. I should check the facts about myself – admitted Świątek.
The legendary tennis player, however, had no regrets towards the Polish woman, as evidenced by the description she posted on the shared video. “Iga ¦wi±tek she had to make it up to me after she “threw me under the wheels” during our conversation. Love it kid“- wrote the Australian tennis player.

The competition on the London courts will begin with Świątek with a duel with a Croatian woman Janą Fettclassified at 254th place in the ranking WTA. This game will be played on June 28 at 14:30 on Central Court.
