If PPKM level 3 is extended, entrepreneurs expect the various services sector to be relaxed

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. The chairman of the DKI Jakarta Indigenous Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (HIPPI) Sarman Simanjorang assessed that he saw the number of Covid-19 cases which had been very controlled and decreased, especially in DKI Jakarta.

Reflecting on this, entrepreneurs hope that the Government can consider the PPKM level down to level 2, so that there is leeway that can boost economic enthusiasm. “However, if the government maintains its position at level 3, we hope that there will be an expanded slack so that several business sectors are open and active,” he explained to Kontan.co.id, Sunday (12/9).

It is time for the various services sector to be able to reopen. Sarman said that because the sector had not operated for a long time, meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition (MICE) and its derivatives.

“Lots event Many exhibitions, both local and national scale, have been delayed, perhaps it is time to give permission with strict procedures. This is in line with tourist sites which will soon be opened,” he added.

Including some entertainment centers can be considered open. However, with a note that business actors must have a commitment to strictly implement health protocols. “The bottom line is that business actors who intentionally violate PPKM provisions must be given strict sanctions,” said Sarman.

As for the expanded easing in the last 2 weeks, Sarman said it was starting to appear that the economy had started to recover slowly.

“With the number dine in 50% and opening time until 21.00 as well as offices that have started to be active are very helpful for the economy in the trade and retail sector. And what we need to be grateful for for the past 2 weeks, the number of COVID-19 cases has shown encouraging numbers, aka decreasing,” he said.

The current economic trend is expected to contribute to economic growth in the third quarter of 2021. Entrepreneurs really hope that in the third quarter later economic growth can reach in the range of 3.5% to 4%.

“If this is achieved, we are optimistic that economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2021 will be better because there is a Christmas and New Year momentum where people’s purchasing power increases,” he explained.

But basically, business actors will continue to support the implementation of PPKM which is considered very effective in reducing the rate of transmission of COVID-19 and also increasing public awareness to comply with health procedures and vaccinations.

“The PPKM policy is still very effective, but the government needs to consider new levels and concessions, with a note that health care and vaccination obligations are obligatory in various activities of the business world and the community,” said Sarman.
